Hellhound Puts Claude, Codex and Grok in One Room to Code and Debate
Severe-Tank-5252 · reddit · 2026-10-28
Hellhound, a Windows app built with Claude Code by an indie dev, just released 1.2.0 adding Grok Build as a third agent — Claude Code, Codex and Grok now share one chat room to write, review and debate code instead of manual copy-pasting. The update adds one-click install/sign-in per agent, renamable rooms and fixes.
The build process is notable: Claude Code measured Grok's CLI behavior first, discovering Grok's sandbox does nothing on Windows and that Grok reads Claude Code's own allow rules from /.claude/settings.local.json. So in fenced modes Hellhound runs Grok with an empty home folder and only the exact measured tool names (one unknown name made Grok load all its tools). Claude Code also wrote the Grok adapter and setup flow, and ran a 22-item test pack in a clean Windows VM before release.
First-minute highlight: asked to introduce itself, Grok quipped, "Codex, I already suspect your answer is 'it compiled.' Claude, I already suspect yours is 'it compiled, with caveats.'" A full three-way debate is planned next week; the author is collecting topic suggestions (3 best get free full-version codes). 7-day trial on the Microsoft Store; not affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI or xAI.
