Meta quietly launches Waddle World, an AI pet journal app with chatting pixel pets

Meta has quietly launched Waddle World, a 'tamagotchi-style' 16-bit app where virtual pixel pets chat with users and create doodles to illustrate conversations.
Per its App Store and Play Store listings, it's not really a game but "a daily journal disguised as a pet": users should talk rather than type to their pets, and can also play cozy games like grocery stacking and word games. The launch continues Meta's experiments in consumer AI companion products.
