Claude is now available inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides via the Google Workspace Marketplace. rubenhassid shares a full setup guide plus scenario prompts.
Setup (9 steps): Pro plan → Marketplace → install Claude → sign in → reload files → use via Extensions menu. Corporate laptops need admin allowlisting. Chrome/Edge/Safari only, no Firefox.
Prompt recipes:
- Docs, contract review: flag clauses that could cost money or restrict you, quote and explain each, suggest asks; follow-up: list terms used but never defined
- Docs: "read as a skeptical executive, what 3 questions does this doc not answer"
- Sheets: explain how the H42 total is computed and flag hardcoding; diagnose and fix a #N/A VLOOKUP
- Slides: split a wall-of-text slide keeping styling; rewrite every title as an under-8-word takeaway
Gotchas: enable "Ask before edits"; select specific text/cells before prompting; all edits tracked in version history. Limits: sees only the open file, can't read Docs comments yet, stops when sidebar closes, Slides charts are static images, Office files must be converted first.
