Y Combinator RFS Calls for LLMs Built Specifically to Write Well as RLHF Flattens Prose
ycombinator · x · 2026-10-28
In its RFS, YC partner Jared argues LLMs have gotten much better at coding and math while their writing sounds increasingly flat and robotic — the same reward signals that improve coding and agentic work flatten voice and style, leaving room for models built specifically to write well.
The post also cites another RFS item on vertical foundation models: specialized models for manufacturing, energy, and biology could match or beat general models with a fraction of the compute, learning from little or no labeled data.
