Microsoft's MAI-Image-2.7-Preview takes #2 in image editing, closing on OpenAI

Mustafa Suleyman announced MAI-Image-2.7-Preview ranks #2 on Artificial Analysis' AA-Image-Editing v2.1 leaderboard, behind only OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst (max), ahead of Google, Meta and xAI models.
Per Artificial Analysis, the new model beats MAI-Image-2.6 on all 7 editing actions measured and ranks #1 on 4 of them (Scene & Style Edit, Text or Symbol Edits, Reasoning-Based Edit, Enhancement & Restoration), with gains of +57 Elo in Composition & Framing and +49 in Text or Symbol Edits.
