ACL ARR's controversial 'review withholding' rule draws criticism from Delip Rao
deliprao · x · 2026-10-27
ACL Rolling Review introduced a contentious policy: reviewer/AC authors — and their co-authors — cannot see reviews of their own submissions until they complete their assigned reviews/meta-reviews, with access withheld (worst case until two days before the author response period ends) if reviewers are late. Revised submissions may now include an optional revision explanation. Delip Rao posted he can't understand the 'weird games' behind these rules.
