On October 20, German industrial giant Schaeffler opened a 7,500㎡ humanoid robotics factory in Taicang, China, where 5 ROKAE Helios wheeled humanoids build linear and rotary joint modules (including actuators) for next-gen humanoid robots.
The robots handle bin transport, parts picking and sorting, press-fitting, screw assembly, inspection, labeling and packaging. The Helios has 23 DoF, two 7-DoF arms, whole-body force control, and an omnidirectional base with a 1.5 m/s top speed. The facility combines robot training, data collection, and digital twins, tying skill development to live production. Schaeffler has previously partnered with Agility, Neura Robotics, and Humanoid AI, and plans to deploy at least 1,000 humanoids.
