Thumbly: open-source MCP server lets AI agents control a real iPhone, no jailbreak
timurcat99 · reddit · 2026-10-26
Developer timurcatali released Thumbly 0.1.0, a free open-source MCP server letting MCP clients on a Mac control a real iPhone: native screenshots, tap, swipe, long-press, typing, hardware buttons and app launches. It connects over USB (Wi-Fi after first pairing), uses Apple's CoreDevice services via pymobiledevice3, and needs no jailbreak. A companion Mac app approves each client, inspects activity and can pause all AI access. Requires macOS 14+, iOS 17.4+, Developer Mode; includes a Python SDK and simulated-device mode.
