OpenGMB: an MCP server for Google Business Profiles where writes require human approval
parthguru · reddit · 2026-10-25
A developer at Synectus (which manages Google Business Profiles for clinics) open-sourced OpenGMB, an MCP server exposing every profile action as tools usable from Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Cursor.
- Capabilities: list/reply to reviews, draft and schedule posts, edit hours and categories, pull performance data.
- Key design: write tools never publish directly — they create a draft that passes rule checks (no links in review replies, valid hours, no review gating) and waits in a human approval queue.
- Engineering: HTTP transport with bearer tokens, MIT license, Docker Compose self-hosting.
The approval-queue pattern for agent write operations is the most transferable idea here.
