SMP MCP server indexes 96k-file Linux kernel tree in 2m51s on a laptop

Developer Senthil released SMP (Structural Memory Protocol), an MCP server providing a live structural code graph for coding agents — callers/callees, blast radius, file outlines, community detection and test-coverage context, using BM25 + structural expansion without embeddings. On a laptop (i7-1165G7, 14GB RAM, no GPU), it indexed a 95,937-file Linux kernel snapshot in 2m51s (839k nodes / 4M edges), 4.6x faster than codebase-memory-mcp. His own benchmark exposed a bug: locate re-tokenized the whole BM25 corpus per query (1.5s p50, twice OOM-killed his desktop); fixed with a revision counter + corpus cache, now 40–85ms p50. One-line install wires it into Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex and Cursor.
