Anthropic's Claude Duet: a proactive agent that keeps working after you close the app

Karan Ahuja shared details on Claude Duet, Anthropic's proactive agent now in research preview, as demand floods the waitlist. Key points:
- Availability: US Pro/Max subscribers for now, on iOS, Android, and web; Mac app in the works.
- How it works: Runs on a cloud-based computer, connects to your authorized apps, and keeps working after you close the app — reading your inbox, drafting replies, booking things, and running routines. The team uses it daily for their own work.
- Safety design: Three layers — model-level safety training, product safeguards from Claude Code/Managed Agents, plus new protections for cross-account actions; a classifier reviews outgoing drafts; users stay in control; Duet never sees passwords, cookies, or credentials.
- Use cases: Starting with work — professionals, small business owners, founders — before expanding to life use cases.
The screenshots show it tracking 12 months of invoicing, spotting a $500 shortfall, and drafting a reminder email pending user approval.
