Gamers reject AI-generated assets but tolerate AI-assisted code, Valve included
RedDuelist · x · 2026-10-24
RedDuelist responds to Aryvyo's jab that gamers attack any studio mentioning AI while giving Valve a pass, proposing a distinction: the debate should be about how AI is used—code vs. generative assets—not whether it's used at all. He'd play a game with AI-assisted code but refuses fully generated, uncurated "AI slop" games flooding Steam and social media. Aryvyo notes Valve is in one of its most productive phases ever, making it hard to believe it isn't using coding agents.
