Y Combinator announced that W21 alum Tractian raised a $130M Series D at a $1.4B valuation, with ARR past $100M and growing 90% year over year. Tractian retrofits industrial machines — most of which have no instrumentation at all — with a dozen kinds of sensors measuring vibration, temperature, and pressure, and its AI predicts failures and recommends maintenance before breakdowns. "Breaking news: nothing happened on the plant floor today. That's the point."
