Meta earnings: modest capex bump, durable AI infra demand but no GPU surge
tengyanAI · x · 2026-10-23
Meta's earnings call may be the week's most important signal: bullish for AI infrastructure durability, but not necessarily for an acceleration in NVIDIA GPU orders. Three takeaways: (1) capex barely moved—2026 guidance lower end raised from $130B to $135B, upper end held at $145B, just +1.8% at midpoint; (2) AI is already paying for itself via incremental ad revenue, arguably the bigger NVIDIA positive; (3) Meta targets >10x Muse compute cost-efficiency gains within a year, complicating the GPU demand readthrough. Marvell, Wiwynn and CoreWeave have potential exposure via networking, servers and compute services. The sustainable path is durable spending, not a sudden step-up.
