Railway breach may have exposed users' decrypted env vars, all deployments paused
devenbhooshan · x · 2026-10-22
Railway disclosed a security incident: an unauthorized third party may have accessed encrypted environment variables — some with decrypted contents — potentially exposing API keys, database and registry credentials. The company believes this is part of a recent wave of attacks targeting platform companies to compromise AI inference providers, and has notified upstream providers to proactively revoke all keys. All users are urged to immediately rotate env vars and private registry credentials and review logs; all deployments are paused while the investigation continues.
