Anthropic has opened a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent: it surfaces what needs your attention, completes assigned tasks, keeps working while you're away, and checks with you before acting on your behalf.
Developer Lydia Hallie shared her real-world setup: having Duet watch Slack, email, and calendar, pinging her only when something matters (even threads she's not in), often with a doc or design attached for context. She says it dramatically cuts context switching — no more being "on" all the time.
