RFD4-Proteina designs phosphorylation binders, distinguishing adjacent histone sites
AllThingsApx · x · 2026-10-22
Researchers say RFD4-Proteina takes protein design beyond the canonical 20 amino acids: following work on phosphotyrosine binders, the model adds phosphoserine and phosphothreonine, with binders that distinguish adjacent H3pS10 and H3pT11 sites in the histone H3 tail. Japanese biotech commentators note this enables histone-reader-like binder design, strengthening drug discovery.
