Cohere's Rachad Alao on how open science underpins transparent, secure foundation models
PyTorch · x · 2026-10-22
At PyTorch Conference North America 2026, Cohere's Rachad Alao argued for publishing model architectures, training strategies, parameter choices and evaluation methodologies, paired with an evidence-based risk framework, independent auditing, continuous monitoring and dynamic safeguards. He showed how PyTorch, TorchTitan and vLLM support open model development and inference optimization, and how access to internal representations enables research in retrieval, reasoning and multilingual AI.
