PyTorch Con keynote maps five layers of the agentic stack and bidirectional design
PyTorch · x · 2026-10-22
At PyTorch Conference 2026, Mazin Gilbert (Executive Director, Agentic AI Foundation) laid out a five-layer agentic stack—hardware infra, software infra, intelligence, agentic platform, and user apps—placing PyTorch at the intelligence layer. He proposes designing the stack bidirectionally: models support agents, while agent traces, evals, environments and rewards feed back into model training, e.g. turning agent evals into reward signals accounting for safety, task completion, precision, efficiency and energy use.
