Ex-DeepMind researcher studied Ethereum for AI safety, then concluded it doesn't fit
AdaptiveAgents · x · 2026-10-21
Parts 6-7 of the thread: after leaving DeepMind, the author explored decentralized systems for AI safety, studying Ethereum in depth—only to conclude blockchains weren't suitable. LLMs are hard to run on-chain for compute reasons, but the fundamental mismatch is trust: blockchains require specifying and verifying valid computation, which intelligent systems defy.
