Gemini CLI v0.66.0-preview ships a batch of UI and core fixes
gemini-cli-robot · ghdev · 2026-10-21
Google's gemini-cli released v0.66.0-preview.0, mostly a round of fixes: UI work addresses spinner rendering, terminalBuffer flickering, and border bleed in scrollable tool containers; core changes refactor the scheduler to emit tool call groups directly (dropping UI lookahead), harden SKILL.md frontmatter parsing, disable interactive credential/SSH prompts in getSafeGitEnv, fix Windows openDiff argument quoting, and resolve settings placeholders after .env loading. The roadmap was refreshed and a banner notes Gemini CLI is not yet optimized for Gemini 4.
