Codex Computer Use issue: authenticated desktop exposed after Remote turn on AZERTY
benperry6 · ghdev · 2026-10-18
Issue #54958 on openai/codex documents two distinct problems with Computer Use. First, a historical relock/exposure defect: on build 20586 with a French AZERTY layout, the user saw the authenticated desktop after a Remote turn ended; a temporary ABC comparison and key-code inspection support a layout-sensitive relock bug. Second, a still-reproducible automatic-unlock failure on build 20770, where the first Remote request after a clean screen-saver lock fails before display-off. Retesting with the native Lock Screen shortcut (Ctrl+Cmd+A) produced three successful lock/relock cycles and one successful natural-inactivity cycle, but the author stresses these successes neither erase the original exposure nor prove the shortcut was the sole fix.
