React to the tsrs (Rust TypeScript port) launch, former Meta engineer @lacker argued this is the reality for every good open source project: they will be informally copied and embedded in hundreds of other projects, and maintainers will have to emotionally adjust.
Christoph Nakazawa (creator of Jest) replied that there is a respectful, collaborative way to do this — and promised to show his own approach next week. The exchange captures the growing community friction over big companies rewriting popular open source tools in Rust.
