Indie developer HiTw93 released the Windows version of system utility Mole, a near-total rewrite with almost no code reused from the Mac version.
- Rewritten in native C#, 78K lines of code and 4,000+ test cases in about a month; 372 popular apps (Chrome, WeChat, Cursor, Ollama, etc.) manually tested for uninstall, leftover cleanup and startup behavior
- Features: 200+ cache categories, uninstall with registry backup, startup-item cleanup, treemap disk analysis, live CPU/GPU/memory monitoring
- An open-source CLI version started earlier this year after a feature request and PR from an Indian developer; 9 releases in 9.5 months, now on par with the Mac CLI
- Pricing: $19 one-time (early-bird $15.20 until Nov 11); Mac-version buyers get it for $10 with code MOLEAGAIN; covers 2 PCs, 14-day refund
