Nvidia GR00T veterans launch DreamLabs with $90M seed and public robot brain API

DreamLabs, founded by four ex-Nvidia GR00T leads (Joel Jang, Yunhao Ge, Scott Reed, You Liang Tan), raised a $90M seed round led by B Capital and launched DreamAPI, the first publicly available robot foundation-model API.
Key facts:
- Dream-1, a World Action Model (WAM) trained on human task videos, zero-shot controls robots it has never seen; pricing is $3/hour ($2 for Dream-1-flash)
- Evaluated on 27 unseen simulated robots (24 above 50% score, Unitree R1, ALOHA, etc.); real-robot zero-shot demos include towel folding and tool sorting across 9 partner sites (AGIBOT, KAIST, Hugging Face, Scale AI)
- Add-ons: FaaS fine-tuning (a 5-minute trajectory adapts a new robot) and RobotPlayground browser-based real-robot control
- Tops the independent RoboDojo-RC Tier1 benchmark at 59% per attempt—first model above 50%, beating Claude Opus 5.5, Gemini 4 Argon, GPT-6 Astra—at 1/16 the cost of the runner-up
- 20+ hardware partners onboard; limitations include IK solver dependence and no arm-path control; wheeled robots and dexterous hands are next
