Dev builds Overflow to turn leftover LLM subscription usage into open-source fixes
Nitjsefnie · reddit · 2026-10-20
Reddit user Nitjsefnie open-sourced Overflow (MIT), a mutual-credit system for LLM subscription plans where unused weekly usage evaporates at reset.
- How it works: with spare weekly capacity, pick a priced issue from a registered repo and earn credit when your PR merges; in a dry week, price issues in your own repo and let someone with spare usage ship them, paid from your credit.
- Anti-spam: you set the price after seeing the work and only pay for merged PRs; bad actors get blocked on GitHub. No project knowledge needed — the issue is the brief, and agents can ask the maintainer on the issue.
- Status: no forwarding, no keys, no money, no paid tier; 28 users so far, and the author is urging maintainers to register their repos.
