At an agentic event in Sunnyvale, Google's rakyll and thockin presented Agent Substrate and AX — rethinking Kubernetes for agent workloads. First principles from the slides: agents must feel always-on (O(100ms) latencies, durable storage); "Just In Time is too late" — compute infra must be ready before needed, hence multi-purpose; and suspend/resume as the core primitive.
