Investor: Opus 4.6 already proved the bottleneck is the harness, not the model

Responding to today's "model saturation" headlines, investor Matt Slotnick argues these claims rest on biased samples — data gathered from each vendor's own harness, deployment setup, and customers. Overbuilt harnesses, he notes, can themselves hurt model capability.
He cites the earlier argument that the real bottleneck is "all of the software around putting the models in an environment where they can execute and do work and humans can review that work in a trustworthy way" — a point Claude Opus 4.6 established at the start of the year as model capabilities outpace the surrounding tooling.
