The 3-chat trick: have AI rewrite your prompt, then audit its own answer
Wild_Space · reddit · 2026-10-19
A Reddit user shares a three-step method for getting better AI results:
- Ask the AI to improve your prompt;
- Use the improved prompt in a fresh chat;
- In a third chat, have the AI audit the answer from step 2 and find mistakes.
The author's rationale: models are "lazy" by default, and splitting the work across three chats forces roughly 3x the compute on your question, approximating a more capable model. He recommends reserving it for important work projects rather than every question. Simple but debatable — worth a try.
