HF Engineer Plans Self-Hosted Sandbox With OSS Models Hooked Up to Codex
TheZachMueller · x · 2026-10-19
Zach Mueller, open-source ecosystem engineer at Hugging Face, laid out a self-hosted agent experiment: use an OSS model as the backbone, run "remote" sandboxes on his own rig (eyeballing Microsandbox as the sandboxing choice), and hook it all up to Codex.
The plan represents a growing self-hosting route for replicating the cloud coding-agent sandbox experience on local compute; implementation details are yet to come.
