Barclays: pure-play data center bond spreads hit ~209bps as market prices in contagion
SumitGup · x · 2026-10-19
Barclays strategists addressed investor concerns about spillover risk by pointing to an equal-weight basket of six pure-play data center long-dated IG bonds: its spread vs 20-year Treasuries has climbed to roughly 208.9bps, widening steadily from 110-140bps over the past year.
The note says the market is watching neocloud price action (e.g. $CRWV) and "now pricing in some degree of contagion," meaning stress in AI data center debt is spreading across the sector.
