AI game dev spat: indie says 5 years of sacrifice isn't gatekeeping, AI designer fires back
AIandDesign · x · 2026-10-19
Indie dev @EZE3D argued his niche game exists only because he and a friend saved for years to fund and build the skills a AAA studio would never risk on it, saying "sacrifice, diligence and risk-taking shouldn't be called gatekeeping." AIandDesign pushed back: that logic means only people willing to grind 5 years with no family obligations are "allowed" to make cool games — just like people once weren't "allowed" to make art with computers. He vows to keep creating with AI tools while respecting the hard-way route, and asks when the game ships.
