TV Time shutdown erased 15 years of history, so he rebuilt 10,260 media notes in Obsidian

When TV Time shut down on July 15, 2026, Sébastien Dubois lost 15 years of TV tracking history — every show, episode and rating — because he never exported it. In response, he rebuilt his entire media life inside Obsidian: 10,260 plain-Markdown notes covering movies, shows, anime, video games and board games, each with covers, statuses, ratings, ownership, prices and play dates.
The core principle: the vault is the single source of truth, versioned in Git and backed up multiple times daily, so no third-party shutdown can wipe his history again. Media notes integrate with his knowledge base, making them browsable, queryable, and even answerable by AI about his own viewing history.
