shadcn, author of shadcn/ui, says he still spends weeks on UX research and iteration to nail abstractions and interfaces — recently two shadcn/react components each took weeks. AI hasn't accelerated that part; what it does is let him fail faster, exploring far more approaches before code ships. For now, he still cares that code reads right.
