LangChain launches Managed Deep Agents: agents as directories, fully hosted runtime
EdenEmarco177 · x · 2026-10-12
LangChain released Managed Deep Agents (MDA): you write only the agent's intelligence (instructions, skills, tools, model) while LangSmith hosts the Deep Agents harness and runtime — planning, tool calls, filesystem, subagents, threads, streaming and an MCP endpoint, no servers to run. Chase mapped it to the ecosystem: LangGraph for durable workflows, Sandboxes for computer use, context hub for memory/skills, schedules for triggers, plus evals and observability — with payments/identity the only missing block. Includes a widely shared slide: web apps had server/DB/cache/CRUD; every future agent product will have durable workflows, computer use, memory & skills, triggers, connectors & auth, voice channels, payments, evals.
