Web Browsing Agent Runs Locally on a 9B Model, Tasks Done in ~11-17s
BangsFactory · reddit · 2026-10-12
A developer built a web browsing agent powered by a locally running Clef-Flash 9B decision model. Demo tasks — checking Tibo usage reset times (17s), finding and downloading the latest stable Godot release (13s), and playing a YouTube video (11s) — ran quickly. Since the decision model can't generate text, the system extracts page text at runtime; commands were entered manually but could be automated via an LLM. Success rates are high on simple sites but drop sharply on complex UIs with toggles and multiple tabs.
