Box MCP connects to your agents in under two minutes: a full setup guide
saisonmaison · reddit · 2026-10-11
A long-time Box user reports that Box's MCP functionality impressed him: he connected it to his agents in under two minutes, letting agents access his work and personal docs. Since Box's documentation is weak, he wrote his own setup guide:
- Create a new app (type: User) in the Box developer console
- Add your MCP client's callback URL as a Box Redirect URI
- Configure the MCP client: server https://mcp.box.com, Streamable HTTP transport, OAuth 2.0 auth, Client ID/Secret from Box, Dynamic Client Registration off
- Connect and complete the Box OAuth login
