An Inquiry-Based Approach to Abstract Algebra (2016) by Dana C. Ernst has been added to ChapterPal's collection of open books. Aimed at undergraduates moving from computational coursework to proof-based reasoning, it assumes only calculus-level preparation but demands independent problem solving: following inquiry-based learning principles, it omits worked examples and prepackaged solutions, asking students to investigate concrete phenomena, generate their own examples and counterexamples, and prove nearly every theorem themselves.
