Sophont's Holon-S1 predicts genes and biomarkers from routine pathology slides
iScienceLuvr · x · 2026-10-23
Sophont launched Holon-S1, a medical AI platform that predicts genes and biomarkers from routine pathology slides, potentially replacing slow and expensive molecular testing. It beat two other models at predicting spatial gene activity in a controlled comparison, has surfaced potentially novel biomarkers in breast and colon cancer, and was evaluated across 16 organ types and 15+ scanners on both FFPE and fresh-frozen slides. Investors cite it as evidence specialized domain models can beat pure-scaling approaches.
