Mathematicians' group AHM slams OpenAI's 700-file release: 'power, not scholarship'
ChrSzegedy · x · 2026-10-09
The Association for Human Mathematicians (AHM) issued a sharp statement against OpenAI's Oct 6 release of 700+ math manuscripts, arguing mathematicians never asked for it and that OpenAI ignored its own advisory group's premise. Calling the dump "a demonstration of power, not scholarship," AHM urges mathematicians to stop working with OpenAI. Google researcher Christian Szegedy publicly disagreed, noting AHM doesn't speak for all mathematicians.
