Developer ditches Sign in with ChatGPT, says old Codex login is better in every way
lucasmeijer · x · 2026-10-07
Developer lucasmeijer says he jumped on the "Sign in with ChatGPT" bandwagon too early for Codex and has reverted to the old codex login flow, which he calls better in every way right now: device code login, usage visibility, and possibly better tokens/s reporting (though he's not fully sure on that last point). A first-hand signal that OpenAI's new login integration may not beat the original flow.
