Adopting AI everywhere won't speed output: the 7-stage path to an agentic organization

Reposting @mardehaym's thread: companies can adopt AI everywhere yet take just as long to get things done—people produce work faster, then wait for review, system transfers, or the next step, so individual tasks improve while the process barely changes.
The author frames the move from AI tools to an agentic organization in seven stages:
- Tool adoption: individuals use AI for single tasks while still providing context and deciding outcomes; this stage reveals which recurring tasks are worth turning into reliable workflows.
- The context layer: give agents access to business rules, customer records, product knowledge, and prior decisions via documents, databases, search, or APIs, with clear ownership and permissions.
Only the first two stages are included in the available excerpt of the longer thread.
