'Stochastic parrots' bros in shambles as LLM doubters eat crow

Developer itsmnjn recalls that when o1 first launched a couple years ago, takes dismissing LLMs as "just stochastic parrots" were everywhere — and such statements made him irrationally angry. With models now far exceeding those dismissals, he notes the parrot-theory crowd has gone quiet.
