mcp-mexico: an MCP server serving official Mexican economic data instead of hallucinated numbers
Reasonable_Truck_172 · reddit · 2026-10-07
A developer released mcp-mexico (v0.1.0, MIT, 58 tests), an open-source MCP server that gives any MCP client official Mexican economic data instead of model-guessed numbers:
- Banxico: USD/MXN FIX rate, target rate, 28-day TIIE, TIIE de Fondeo, CETES (latest, specific date, or range)
- INEGI: INPC inflation (monthly, annual, YTD), UMA values
- SAT: ISR tax tables for individuals 2020–2026 (monthly Art. 96, annual Art. 152)
Design choices: every result names its source and applies date (a Sunday FIX query returns Friday's rate, labeled); UMA and ISR tables ship inside the package with no network calls; missing tokens trigger instructions for getting a free token instead of an error. Install via uvx mcp-mexico or one line into Claude Code.
