AgentID launches: an OpenID-based sign-in identity built for AI agents
cneuralnetwork · x · 2026-10-07
AgentID is now live, positioning itself as the "sign-in button for AI agents." Each agent gets its own AgentMail email identity and signs in as itself rather than its owner, while apps verify the agent and learn the human behind it.
Key points:
- Solves the insecurity and limits of sharing your own login with an agent
- Built on standard OpenID Connect, free for apps
- Developers can integrate in minutes by pasting a prompt into their coding agent or running npx @agentmail/agentid-cli init
- Apps can send onboarding, alerts, receipts, and support messages to agent accounts
