Tip: force GPT-Live to say exact phrases via a developer message in session.start's input
pbbakkum · x · 2026-10-07
A developer asked how to make GPT-Live stick to exact phrasing for compliance purposes despite following the prompting guide. Peter Bakkum shared a concrete fix:
- If the exact phrase is needed at the start of a session, put a developer message in the input parameter of session.start, e.g. "say exactly this: ..."
A non-obvious usage of the realtime voice API, directly useful for support/compliance scenarios requiring verbatim scripts.
