ChatGPT Codex + Zapier SDK: a one-prompt workflow that generates and posts content automatically
TawohAwa · x · 2026-10-06
A walkthrough of turning ChatGPT's desktop Codex mode into a social media agent using the newly launched Zapier SDK (beta).
The workflow:
- Open Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app and ask it to install the Zapier SDK
- Connect Google Sheets, Facebook, and Google Drive in Zapier (9,000+ apps, 30,000+ actions)
- One prompt does everything: "Give me 5 trending AI content ideas, save them in Google Sheets, write a caption and image for one, publish it to my Facebook Page, then save the live link back to the sheet"
- Codex generates ideas, stores images in Drive, publishes via a Zapier action, and writes the post URL back to Sheets
Zapier SDK handles auth, retries, and governance in code — no OAuth flows or token management; the MCP variant serves no-code chatbot use. Note: this is Zapier-sponsored content.
