Dell expands AI Data Platform with semantic layer and knowledge graph to make data agent-ready
DavidLinthicum · x · 2026-10-06
Enterprise AI conversations are shifting from "which model?" to "can the model trust the data?". Dell's latest expansion of the Dell AI Data Platform introduces a Unified Semantic Layer, Enterprise Knowledge Graph, and Knowledge Agents targeting the biggest barrier to production AI: fragmented, inconsistent, poorly contextualized enterprise data.
The author argues AI agents become valuable not by accessing more data, but by understanding what data means, how it relates to other business information, whether it is governed, and what context should shape answers. The update also includes NVIDIA-accelerated data processing and PowerScale multitenancy and security enhancements.
