Citing Gregory Conti, jozefandrewk argues that an AI world may erase vocations and self-actualization, reducing humans to consumption and hedonism while human genius goes uncelebrated. Many 'Last Men' would be fine with this, but intellectuals, artists, writers and scientists who lived for ideals greater than themselves would find it deeply demoralizing.
