Replacing MCP Install Docs with One Sentence: What Broke Across Claude Code, Codex, Cursor
Accomplished_Fun_408 · reddit · 2026-10-02
RockFlow's MCP team replaced per-client install docs with a single sentence you paste to your agent. Their field notes: Claude Code and Codex only see new servers in fresh sessions; omitting 'user-level config' scopes the install to one folder in Claude Code; Claude web/Grok can't run commands and Claude's free plan allows only one custom connector; and with no read-only scope, OAuth exposes all 19 tools including order placement, so they default to a paper account. Useful reference for anyone shipping MCP servers.
